What to Do?

For the sporty visitor, young and old, there are plenty of activities!

• Llangennith is one of the UK's premier surf beaches - with welsh legend PJ running the surf shop in the village to hire and buy boards and equipment. There are plenty of surf schools - see the links page

• Running - If running is your thing you might like to book the cottage during the Gower running festival ... or if organised events are not your thing walk out of the gate and choose whether to run left and into the hills or right and down and along Rhossilli beach

Cycling

Cycling - Whether you wear lycra on your road bike or a more tailored short on your mountain bike there is plenty of cycling to be had... and the essential coffee shop en route! 

You can hit the trails right out of the garden gate. Turn right to go to Rhossilli and the worms head or right for.... well as far as you want go! All the trails are on the usual GPS apps for MTB and road cycling. Charge up and go!

Running / Adventure

Adrenalin!

If you need an adrenalin fix, you may wish to see what Rip n  Rock have to offer - Coasteering, SUP and surfing, Abseiling and rock climbing - all standards catered for!

Running

Running and Music - Probably the highlight of the running calendar on Gower is the running festival. the next one is 11-14 July 2024 - book early! The location is at Weobley Castle, Llanrhidian - a short jog away. It is a camping festival.... but if you fancy a comfortable bed after running a marathon come to Dollars Cottage!

A very close second would be the Endurance Life event - running in November each year and catering for 10k - ultra.

Golf

Gower has some beautiful and testing golf courses:

Footgolf - A fantastic alternative to 'normal' golf is foot golf - fun for all the family in the heart of Swansea!

  • Swansea City are no longer in the top league, but still in the championship - get down to the Vetch if you need a football fix! 

• Rugby

  • If you prefer the non round ball - go to St Helens for a quality rugby game - home of the Mighty Whites - Swansea RFC
